NAIRA RAIN Kogi state government has disbursed five million naira for physically challenged persons in the state.
Governor Ibrahim Idris who disbursed the funds this week at the government house during a visit by the Kogi State chapter of association of people with disabilities said each of the beneficiaries was given one hundred thousand naira.
He said the disbursement is to assist the physically challenged persons who were trained by the National Directorate of Employment to enable them carry out their vocational trades.
HOUSE
The speaker Kogi State house of Assembly, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi has assured the people of the state that he will provide honest and purposeful leadership to move the assembly beyond the present level.
Alhaji Bello gave the assurance at a dinner organised in his honour by the immediate past speaker , Chief Clarence Olafemi and committee of friends in Lokoja. The speaker who expressed appreciation to God , Alhaji Ibrahim Idris , chief Clarence Olufami and leaders of the peoples Democratic Party in the state appealed to the people to give him the necessary support to enable him succeed.
IDAH
AN aspirant to the office of the chairman of Idah Local Government under the platform of peoples Democratic party, Doctor Major Musa has promised to provide purposeful and result oriented leadership if given the mandate. Doctor Musa gave the promise during his formal declaration to run for the office . Doctor Musa who is the immediate past chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association in the state said through the grace of God and the mandate of the people, he would provide the change required to move the area forward and solicits the support of the ward executive to enable him succeed.

The former governor of the state and chieftain of All Nigerian Peoples party , ANPP Prince Abubakar Audu has defected the action Congress of Nigeria A. C .N
The state chairman of Action Congress of Nigeria, Alhaji Haddy Amutoe said the National Secretariat of the party has directed all members to receive the former Governor into the party for overall development of the party. COMMENDATION
Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has been commended for appointing Alhaji Sani Adamu as Permanent Secretary to the state Civil service.
The Amana Oda-OJiji of Imane in Olamaboro Local Government Area , chief Titus Ocheme gave the commendation while speaking on the numerous achievements of Governor Idris in Lokoja.
Chief Ocheme said Alhaji Sani Adamu’s appointment was as a result of hardwork and dedication to duty. The people of O godu in Omala Local Government Area have been urged to unite for the over all development of the area.
The Councillor representing Ogodu Ward Alhaji Abu Maji who made the remarks at a family function at Ogodu said with unity among the people, the area would develop faster.

J Faniyi the immediate past commissioner , ministry for local Govt and chieftaincy affairs is to be appointed the next secretary to the state Govt. Faniyi you will recall defected to CPC to contest the kogi west senatorial election after he was defeated in the PDP primaries incumbent senator from the area Senator Smart Adeyemi.
In the same vein the current SSG Alhaji Musa Amodu we learnt will vacate his office for an appointment as an ambassador of the Federal republic of Nigeria .
WATER,WATER EVERY WHERE
The Governor of kogi state Alhaji Ibrahim Idris on Monday 20/6/2011 flooded the ancient city of lokoja with enough pipe borne water.
