Hoodlum

The flood is already with us  and the prayer is for the mercy of God to limit it to its present level as well as returning to its old level.
But the attendant problem associated with it is what has drawn our attention at this moment. While we have the direct  victims of the flood  there is also the group who though haven’t suffered anything as per the flood but  have been subjected to a lot of hardship may be for been  lokoja  or passing through lokoja the kogi state capital, and that is talking about the hoodlums who are now capitalizing on the flood situation to extort money from commuters.
It is no more news that most roads linking Lokoja the state has been affected by the flood, and we commend the effort  Govt Led by His Excellency Capt. Idris Wada for trying the best it could to reduce the suffering of travellers through Lokoja. Haven said that we are calling on Govt to as a matter of urgency deplore security agents preferably the soldiers to the Angwar Saudana  area of kabawa along the maigari place in lokoja to restore some sanity and rescue travellers from the high level of extortion going on right now. Some group of people should not be allowed to take advantage of the present predicament  to create untold hardship for others.
Meanwhile the activities of these hoodlums has created  hold ups on the subway with very long queues .
RELIEF MATERIALS
The chapel freedom  Adankolo lokoja  was today among organisation who had their present felt by the victims of the flood. With their Leader Bishop Ebenu  they move from one camp site to other sharing relief materials to the needy. The Bishop who was visibly filled with compassion for the plight of the victims called on  Govt to make provision for  more relief materials and provide extra camp site to decongest the one already provided.
On  the Bishop,s entourage were senior members of the Church  including the Assistant Bishop Rev. Sanni Ogalla.
Meanwhile the wife of the Governor Hajia Halima Wada has been on the road distributing relief materials to the victims of the flood.
BUSINESS IN LOKOJA
Business activities which fell to its lowest ebb immediately after the flood attacker in lokoja is further been grounded with the official closure of the Lokoja – Abuja high way.
Going round the town one could see the dissolution  on the faces of  traders of various products.
Lokoja you will recall benefits form the high traffic which goes pass the state on a daily basis. Places like Ganaja junction on the lokoja Anyigba road , and Nataco Junction on the Lokoja – Abuja road is now a ghost of itself with traders of wares sleeping from morning to their closing time with attendant lack of travellers..
