Save Kogi Initiative
A suggestion has been made to the save kogi initiative to take charge of all activities relating  to the collection and distribution of relief materials to victims of the flood disaster in kogi state.
This call was made today during a Facebook chat with a member of the Save kogi Initiative and the CEO of Onafent world wide . During the interaction  Hussein onaji advised SKI to make it mandatory for all relief agencies to register  with the body before carrying any such activities  so as to forestall the inequitable distribution of relief aids.
The CEO of Onafent  declared  its association to the noble cause of SKI in view of the personality involved and had earlier congratulated Hm wada for the initiative.
Sharp Practices
The  CEO of Onafent world wide has expressed dismay over the theft of relief materials by some officials at the flood camps and called on such misguided people to desist from such habit as they have been brought in to coordinate the easy distribution of the materials.
Meanwhile there has been serious complain that relief materials such Indomie  and tea are been rationed amongst victims against the Governors order.
WATER SCARCITY
With the closure of the kogi state water board due to the over flooding of the water pumping equipments,  access to portable drinking water is gradually fading out. The situation has been made even harder with the lack of electricity and fuel in most part of Lokoja metropolis there by hampering the production of sachet water and availability of borehole water.
At press time a bag of pure water is been sold for #300 and #30 per sachet.    
HARD DECISSION
As the situation bites harder many of the people affected by the flood in kogi state are beginning to dispose their house hold appliances. Equipments like flat screen Tv , Fan and Air conditioner goes for as low as fifty percent of the actual cost of purchase.
When asked, the victims claimed the flood sacked them from their homes just as they were expecting the September salary which was yet to mature.  Victims who are mostly civil servants considering the nature of kogi state have appealled to the Governor Capt Idris Wada to urgently release the September salary to allow them quickly move their families to their various villages for more attention.
INSECURITY
A new dimension to the suffering of residence of Lokoja, is the increasing level of robbery attack. Over the past few days there has been an increased number of robbery attack by hoodlums who have taken advantage of the lack of electricity  to intimidate the residence.
Between Sunday night and Wednesday shops and residential apartments in phase one area of Lokoja have been hit by these men of the under world, carting away valuables worth hundreds  of thousands of Naira.
Meanwhile residence have called on the police to step up security around the area.
